Introduction.

Welcome.

In term 3 we will be focusing on character design and modeling. In term 4 we will focus on animation.

In the first class we start on concept sketches for the projections to be used inside Max for reference.

I speak about weight mapping mostly and how in conjunction with bones they can be used to influence the overlying mesh - thereby allowing for complex mesh animation.

Then we continue with an orientation to Max by looking at the following ...
  • Making primatives
  • Materials
  • Rendering
  • Lights (and exclusion)
  • Environment
  • Texture unwrapping process.

We conclude the class by sketching the characters in preparation for next week where we will commence low-poly modeling by putting those sketches into the scene as a reference.

Check back soon for this week's slide presentation and reference material.
